Vegan Calico Beans

Texturized Vegetable Protein – TVP (Reconstituted) |

Directions:
- Saute onion with oil in large pot until onions start to brown.
- Add garlic and sauté for one minute until gragrant.
- Add rest of ingredients and simmer for about an hour. (Alternatively, cook in crock pot for 2 hours.)
Background:
We made these for a party to which a couple of vegetarians would be attending. Theo never thought the TVP would taste right. He was pleasantly surprised and the beans were a big hit with both vegetarians and with carnivores. Go figure!
